Delivering world class road infrastructure

Ongoing road projects in the GCC are worth approximately US $18 billion - Qatar amounts for 22% of these projects. Including the estimated value of projects announced for 2011 - 2015, the total GCC spending amounts to $58 billion, with Qatar allocating approximately US $12.5 billion on improving and creating road networks. Over 29 road projects have been announced for Qatar worth over US $9.5 million, excluding projects in execution. Qatar is set to take-over the rest of the GCC countries in terms of planned investments.

Qatar’s ongoing major road projects include: Lusail Expressway Package 2, Orbital Highway and Truck Road, RasLaffan to Mesaieed Expressway, Dukhan Highway, Doha Bay Crossing , Road Interchanges for the Al Khor Expressway and Doha Expressway – Qatar’s first freeway. Between 2013 – 2015 Qatar will be selecting contractors to complete the remaining phases of the US $4 billion Doha Expressway programme. Building on the success of this event, IQPC have already set the dates for the 3rd Annual Road Planning, Design and Construction Middle East series for 25 - 27 February 2013 to provide you with an excellent opportunity to stay up-to-date with the latest tender announcements, ongoing projects and meet leading solution providers and key decision-makers.

In February 2013, the 3rd Annual Road Planning, Design and Construction Middle East summit took place encouraging key industry leaders to engage in stimulating, knowledge-sharing discussions both on a strategic and technical level. The two day conference was full of in-depth technical presentations and unique case studies to review solutions to the current challenges the industry is facing, interactive panel discussions and one comprehensive workshop. A photo album of the conference can be found here.

The 4th Annual Road Planning Deisng and Construction Middle East will take place from 24 - 26 February 2014 at the St Regis Hotel, Doha, Qatar and programme updates will be posted on this website in due course.
