Through detailed technical presentations, unique case studies, interactive panel discussions, two in-depth comprehensive workshops and dedicated networking sessions, this summit will address the critical challenges that must be overcome to deliver world-class road infrastructure networks.
These are exciting times in the Middle East, with numerous countries deploying substantial investment into their infrastructure in order to provide state-of-the-art road networks, to fulfill long-term development plans. With a number of large projects currently being tendered, the value of road contracts is growing significantly year-on-year.
Over the next five years Qatar has the highest value of proposed road projects in the Middle East and has allocated an estimated investment of US $20 billion for roads and infrastructure development. Another country with strong investment plans, is Saudi Arabia, where the Ministry of Transport has allocated a substantial budget for its 9th development plan to include: new roads and road maintenance and studies.
In the UAE, investment has been allocated for road projects within Abu Dhabi, in particular, for the Shamkha South project. Kuwait is expected to announce tenders for its Nawaseeb Road project before the end of this year; and Oman recently announced a number of different packages in relation to their Batinah Expressway and Muscat Expressway projects.
These ambitious road development plans require the leading consultants, contractors and solution providers in order to deliver projects on time and within budget for the client. Therefore, collaboration throughout the value chain is one of the main concerns that needs to be addressed in order to achieve this vision and deliver world class road infrastructure.
